The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is postponing decisions on over 24 prediction market ETFs tied to election outcomes and Bitcoin price movements. Roundhill, Bitwise, and Grayscale submitted applications in February, but the SEC has delayed approvals to scrutinize fund structures and investor disclosures, avoiding the standard 75-day launch window. These ETFs would settle at $1 if specified events occur or $0 otherwise, with contract prices reflecting implied probabilities based on polls, news, and market sentiment. ETF approval could bring prediction markets into regular brokerage accounts, expanding access beyond specialized platforms.
