GIST, Education on 'Laser and Optics Technology' for Students from 7 Asian Countries

The Advanced Photonics Research Institute (APRI) of GIST held the 16th Annual Laser and Optics Technology Summer School (SSOLLA 2026) from June 6 to 10, 2026, welcoming 13 participants from 7 Asian countries including NTUST, Pnomheng Royal University, and Bangladesh Kullna University. Attendees engaged in coursework on high-power lasers, nonlinear optics, nanophotonics, bio-medical optics, quantum optics, and laser safety, while visiting specialized labs. As Korea's sole dedicated laser and optics research institute, GIST APRI celebrated its 25th anniversary and developed an ultrastrong laser capable of delivering 4.2 petawatts of power in 20 femtoseconds.
