Major Bitcoin Mining Company Foundry Announces BIP-110 Soft Fork Approval Vote

Bitcoin mining pool operator Foundry has decided to let miners vote on whether to implement BIP-110 soft fork. According to a report by Bitcoin Magazine, miners can indicate their approval or rejection based on their hash rate. BIP-110 is a Bitcoin improvement proposal to temporarily limit blockchain spam. If adopted, it will apply a soft fork to reduce non-transactional data on the network. The vote weight is determined by each account's 10-day average hash rate from July 6 to 15. Foundry plans to send block signals based on the weighted majority result during the signal period, which is expected to last until early August block 961,632. Foundry's position is against the proposal, maintaining an opposing signal until the approval exceeds 51% of total voting hash rate. Once surpassed, the pool will switch all block signals to approval. Unvoted accounts will be counted as opposing votes. Account holders can change their votes during the period, but individual votes remain private. However, aggregate results will be shared.
