MDT Launches Ultra-Low-Power Magnetic Switch IC TMR1370 Supporting Over 2 Years of Standby Operation in CGM Devices
MultiDimension Technology Co., Ltd. (MDT), a leader in magnetic sensor technology and pioneer of Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) technology, has launched the TMR1370, an ultra-low-power magnetic switch IC for Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) devices. Building on its validated TMR1367, TMR1368, and TMR1369 product lines, the TMR1370 significantly reduces power consumption, enhances voltage compatibility, and minimizes package size to enable next-generation CGM systems with extended battery life. Optimized for battery-powered CGM devices, the TMR1370 consumes a maximum supply current of 50nA (approximately 30nA at 3V) and supports over two years of standby operation when paired with magnetic wake-up mechanisms, extending product shelf life and preserving battery capacity for continuous glucose monitoring. MDT's proprietary TMR technology platform, combining advanced magnetic sensor design, optimized device architecture, and unique wafer fabrication processes, enables the IC's exceptional power efficiency. The TMR1370 complements MDT's existing X- and Z-axis CGM magnetic switch portfolio, offering designers greater flexibility to optimize sensor orientation and mechanical layouts for diverse CGM architectures while facilitating seamless transition from previous-generation devices.
