Jensen Huang's Visit to Japan Sparks Formation of Major Alliance to Shift AI Dominance
NVIDIA has formed a collaboration with Japan's government and key manufacturing firms to develop national AI infrastructure, robotics, and automotive technologies. During a visit to Tokyo, CEO Jensen Huang finalized projects aligned with Japan's AI strategy. The partnership combines Japan's domestic AI development through Noetra, a state-backed company involving 44 firms, with NVIDIA's next-gen chip supply. Noetra will develop localized foundation models, with NVIDIA providing the core infrastructure for training. NVIDIA's Vera Rubin AI Factory, set to operate by 2028, will house over 13,750 CPUs and 27,500 GPUs, making it the world's first national AI infrastructure. The initiative includes plans for multilingual models by 2026 and real-world AI capabilities by 2030.
