Reevaluating In-House Logistics in Delivery Apps: Cost Reduction and Enhanced Delivery Trust

A study highlights that delivery platforms' in-house logistics (OD) are establishing themselves as critical infrastructure for reducing restaurant delivery staff burdens and enhancing consumer convenience and trust. The Korean Society of Distribution hosted a forum discussing sustainable strategies for delivery platforms, emphasizing the need to balance market competition with systemic improvements to address monopolistic risks and data concentration concerns. Analysis reveals in-house logistics can lower fixed costs for restaurants, enabling smaller eateries to enter the delivery market, while improving delivery transparency and consumer satisfaction through real-time tracking and streamlined issue resolution.
