Ukraine's 'Jet Killer' Drone Developed to Intercept Russian Jet-Engine Shahed Drones Enters Mass Production After Intercepting 12 Units

Ukrainian drone manufacturer Skyfold unveiled its new anti-drone P1-SUN 'Jet Killer' to counter Russia's jet-engine Shahed drones. First displayed at the Paris Air Show, the upgraded model achieves speeds up to 370 km/h, surpassing the previous 310 km/h. Russia has begun equipping some Shahed drones with jet engines, reaching speeds of 500 km/h, reducing Ukraine's response window. Ukrainian Air Force commander Yurii Cherevashenko confirmed 15-20% of Russia's Shahed drones now use jet engines. Skyfold initiated development three months prior to the show, completing trials after downing 12 jet-engine Shahed drones and planning mass production from August 2026. The existing P1-SUN model has already downed over 5,500 Russian drones. Ukraine is also collaborating with European missile firm MBDA and US firm Lockheed Martin on anti-drone systems, while Kyiv-based General Cherry is developing a high-speed 'Bullet' drone capable of exceeding 400 km/h.
