YouTube Premium to Include Peacock Starting Next Year

[Digital Today Hwang Chigyu Reporter] YouTube Premium subscribers will be able to watch NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock content without additional cost starting in 2027 via the YouTube app. According to IT media The Verge on July 27 (local time), this multi-year contract will include Peacock's ad-supported dramas, movies, and live sports in YouTube Premium. YouTube plans to bundle Peacock with its basic Premium subscription, which was raised to $15.99 per month in April. Currently, Peacock's ad-supported subscription starts at $10.99 per month, making it less costly than subscribing to both services separately. NBCUniversal will expand its Peacock user base through this contract. Peacock entered this partnership at the time when NBCUniversal, Sky, and Comcast Broadband separated. The user base is substantial. YouTube reported 125 million Premium and Music subscribers as of 2025, and according to Comcast's recent performance report, Peacock has 48 million U.S. subscribers. Peacock turned a profit for the first time in the last quarter. Under this agreement, NBCUniversal will also provide some live sports events on YouTube. The YouTube TV and distribution contract has also been extended.
