NST Shifts to Planned Entrepreneurship: 26 Cases in the First Half

The National Science and Technology Research Institute (NST) has shifted its technology commercialization strategy from simple technology transfer to planned entrepreneurship, resulting in significant outcomes. Over the past two years, 52 awards and selections have been achieved, with 37 startups identified through the platform in the first half of this year. Startup numbers have grown from 2 in 2024 to 7 in 2025, with 23 planned this year and 3 already completed. Collaboration with KST and a multi-ministerial support program linking R&D achievements to business success have been key. The institute's planned entrepreneurship framework now supports full startup lifecycle, from ideation to market validation, with external funding secured through various government initiatives.
