SpaceX is constructing a natural gas pipeline connecting its Texas launch site to secure fuel infrastructure for increased Starship launch frequency, while asserting control over its supply chain. The 13km 'Starpipe' project, submitted by SpaceX subsidiary Lone Star Mineral Development to the Texas Railroad Commission, aims to stabilize fuel supply for Starship's 2.4 million-liter methane requirement per launch. Current tanker-based logistics limit launch cadence, but SpaceX targets thousands of annual launches, including a 2027 goal of launching 1 million satellites. The pipeline, designed to transport fuel exceeding FAA-approved annual launch needs, signals a strategic move toward future expansion.
