Deloitte Joins IBM and Red Hat's Open Source Security Initiative, Lightwell

Deloitte has joined IBM and Red Hat's Lightwell initiative, a project launched in May with a $5 billion investment and 20,000 engineers focused on detecting and patching vulnerabilities in open-source projects that underpin enterprise software. Deloitte will support clients by identifying and cataloging open-source components used by developers, continuously updating these lists to prevent enterprises from operating applications containing vulnerable modules. Deloitte also manages patch installation and effectiveness verification, deploying on-site engineers to handle security remediation and ongoing software maintenance. IBM's vice president of service partner business, Savio Rodriguez, stated that Lightwell aims to address open-source software security challenges in an AI-driven threat environment.
