Ethereum Wallets After 8 Years of Dormancy Awaken... 37,806 ETH Moved

Dormant Ethereum wallets that had been inactive for eight years have resumed activity, releasing 37,806 ETH into the market. Long-term Ethereum whale unrealized profit margins have turned negative for the first time since 2019, according to Coin Telegraph. According to Lookonchain, four Ethereum wallets that had received 37,602 ETH at an average of $830 eight years ago have reactivated. These wallets maintained their holdings during 2021 and 2025 bull markets, generating over $150 million in unrealized profits. The wallets sold 33,623 ETH at approximately $1,560 each on Thursday, securing around $52.5 million, with realized gains of about $27.4 million. Other major holders showed mixed activity, with one whale exchanging 464 Bitcoin worth $2.76 million for 17,750 ETH. Meanwhile, BlackRock transferred 41,996 ETH and 4,577 BTC to Coinbase Prime, typically linked to custody or operational purposes rather than confirmed market selling.
