Interbiz Bio Forum Opens in Jeju, Discusses Investment Cooperation Plans

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced the opening of the 24th Interbiz Bio Partnering & Investment Forum 2026 in Jeju at the Hynix Island on January 1. This forum, held since 2002 under private initiative, connects academic research with industry needs to support technology transfer and investment attraction. Organized by a 16-member committee including the Korea New Drug Development Research Association, the event received government support since 2017 through the Bio-Medical Technology Development Project. Over 2,100 participants from 630+ organizations, including universities, research institutes, startups, investors, and local governments, will engage in one-on-one partnering meetings, investment consultations, and technology consulting sessions to explore technology transfer opportunities and collaboration strategies for joint research, commercialization, and investment. Officials emphasized the forum's role as an open innovation platform connecting researchers, companies, and investors to build an innovation ecosystem linking R&D outcomes to business success.
