Army Academy's AI and Data Science Department Achieves International Journal Success, Demonstrating Defense AI Talent Development

The Army Academy's AI and Data Science Department continues to produce academic papers in international journals and win AI competitions, proving its effectiveness in cultivating specialized defense AI professionals. Since its establishment in July 2021, the department has developed a robust educational and research framework, enhancing both academic research and practical skills. Notable achievements include a research paper published in Springer's SCIE journal 'International Journal of Machine Learning and Cybernetics (IJMLC)' titled 'Phishing URL Generation Using Tokenizer Vulnerabilities in Transformer-Based Detection Systems.' This study analyzes weaknesses in transformer-based phishing URL detection systems and proposes security enhancement solutions, highlighting potential applications in defense AI security. Academic outputs have grown annually, with 70+ papers presented at domestic/international conferences and 28 journal publications by 2023. Competitions also show consistent success, including awards in National Defense AI competitions, medical AI contests, and Kaggle platforms, demonstrating sustained excellence in AI research and application.
