High-Speed Boat Capsizes off Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island; 15 Tourists Die

A high-speed boat carrying tourists capsized off Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam, killing 15 Indian tourists. The incident occurred around 1:00 PM on the 11th (local time) near Hon May Rut Island, approximately 11 km south of Phu Quoc, due to strong winds and high waves. The vessel, which had 36 passengers including 32 Indian tourists, 3 crew members, and one Vietnamese guide, overturned about 400 meters from the departure point. Despite rescue efforts by nearby vessels, 15 Indian tourists were found dead, with some identified as part of a tech company tour group from India. Survivors reported the boat capsized within 500 meters of departure, and rescue efforts were delayed.
