Galaxy Z8 Fold and Wide Fold to Feature 50-Megapixel Ultrawide Camera 'Upgrade'

Samsung is reportedly upgrading the ultrawide camera on its upcoming Galaxy Z8 foldable phones to 50 megapixels. According to industry sources, the company will integrate a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera into both the Galaxy Z8 Fold and Wide Fold models. The camera module remains supplied by MCNX and Namuaga, same as the previous generation. The rear camera setup, aside from the ultrawide lens, retains the 200MP main camera and 3x telephoto lens from the previous model. Samsung is enhancing its camera capabilities across foldable devices, addressing a long-standing weakness compared to the Galaxy S series. Analysts note that while camera performance may not directly impact sales, higher resolution is expected to improve consumer reception.
