Microsoft Releases TypeScript 7.0 with Up to 12 Times Improved Build Performance
Microsoft has officially launched TypeScript 7.0, its next-generation programming language, featuring native Go implementation that boosts overall build performance by 8-12 times. The update leverages native code execution speed and shared memory-based multithreading to significantly enhance developer productivity. Key improvements include 11.9x faster build times for Visual Studio Code, 11.8x reduction in build duration for BlueSky, and 11.4x improvement for Fleury. Memory usage also decreased by 18% for VS Code projects, with other tools seeing similar reductions. Enhanced editor responsiveness and a new language server protocol-based system further optimize development workflows across major IDEs.
