KT AI Station Wins 'WSIS Prize' Champion Award
KT announced on the 12th that its KT AI Station has won the 'Champion Award' in the information and knowledge access category at the 2026 WSIS Prize ceremony held in Geneva, Switzerland. The WSIS Prize is the prestigious award organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in the information society field. KT AI Station is a mobile AI education platform aimed at bridging the digital divide and enhancing AI capabilities for future generations. Since 2025, it will directly visit schools and communities in remote areas with limited AI education access to provide teenagers with hands-on experience in AI technology and ethics. In 2024, 1,797 students from 21 regions and 19 schools participated, with satisfaction scores of 4.77 for students and 4.94 for teachers on a 5-point scale. The program also recorded a 4.84 score for improved digital ethics awareness, reflecting significant educational outcomes. KT's ESG Director, Lee Jeong-wook, stated, 'This recognition reflects KT's efforts to ensure equitable access to AI benefits globally, and we will continue expanding AI education opportunities through the AI Station to help students understand and safely utilize AI.'
