NIPA's '2026 Open Source Academy Launch Event'... Global Project Participation

The Korea Institute for Advanced Technology (KAIST) announced on December 13 that it held the '2026 Open Source Contribution Academy Launch Event' on November 11 at the Seoul Science and Technology Hall. The Open Source Contribution Academy is a talent development program supporting developers in contributing to global open source projects through activities like code development, feature improvements, documentation, and bug fixes. The launch event gathered over 260 participants, including mentors and mentees from 11 project teams focused on future core technologies such as digital infrastructure and workflow-based technologies. Industry leaders like Park Soo-hong, Samsung Electronics' Open Source Group Head, and Jeong Seung-rok, AMD's Senior AI Software Engineer, delivered talks on the latest trends in the global open source ecosystem and developers' growth in the AI era. Lee Kyung-rok, NIPA's Software Convergence Director, stated, 'We will support domestic developers to gain practical skills and international competitiveness in the global open source ecosystem.'
