Munhwa Expands Custom Orthopedic Shoe Support for Mobility-Impaired Individuals by Double the Scale

Munhwa is doubling its support for orthopedic shoes for mobility-impaired individuals, expanding its social contribution initiatives. Through the 'MUVE' project with Seongdong District Office and Milal Welfare Foundation, the company produces and provides customized orthopedic shoes for people with foot function disorders or discrepancies. The project supports individuals unable to wear off-the-shelf shoes, with each pair crafted manually after precise foot measurements. Since 2024, Munhwa has fully funded production costs annually, increasing the number of beneficiaries to 20 this year. Partnering with Harang Gongbang, a specialized orthopedic shoe workshop in Seoul, the initiative has already selected 10 participants in its first round. Current measurements are complete, with production underway and delivery scheduled by month's end. Munhwa officials emphasized the dual benefit of granting mobility freedom to vulnerable groups and supporting local artisans, planning continued community initiatives through a second round of applications in August.
