Google is enhancing its AI video creation service 'Google Vids' by integrating multi-modal AI model 'Gemini Omni' and a Personal Avatars feature that replicates users' appearances, accelerating its competition in AI video production. This expansion transforms Google Vids from a business presentation tool into a comprehensive AI video platform. The company announced on July 16 that Gemini Omni, which generates videos by combining text and image inputs, will be rolled out sequentially. Users can describe scenes in natural language and upload reference images to generate desired video clips. Video editing has been streamlined, allowing adjustments via natural language commands like 'change the background' or 'brighten the lighting.' Both AI-generated and smartphone-captured videos can be edited using the same tools, with incremental editing capabilities to refine specific sections without restarting the process. This marks Google's continued expansion of its AI video ecosystem, following the February rollout of its AI video generation model 'Bard 3.1.'
