ESMA Adds 14 CASPs to MiCA Registry; License Growth Slows
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has added 14 cryptocurrency asset service providers (CASPs) to the MiCA registry, raising the total number of registered entities to 294. According to CoinTelegraph, this is the second update to the MiCA registry since the transition period ended. Following the addition of 37 CASPs in July, the current update reflects slower growth in license approvals. New registrants include Ripple Europe's payment division, Portugal's BPI Banco, Croatia's Hrvatska Privredna Banka (HPB), and two German cooperative banks. Traditional financial institutions such as Spain's BBVA and Banco Popular, Germany's Commerzbank, France's CACEIS Bank, and Luxembourg's Standard Chartered Bank are also registered.
