AI-Based Connectivity: Asia-Pacific Proposes the Path to a Smarter Digital Future

The inaugural APAC Broadband Development Summit 2026, hosted in Bangkok, brought together government officials, standardization bodies, and telecom companies to shape consensus on AI-era network evolution. Participants included ITU, Thailand's National Digital Economy and Society Board, WBBA, IAB, FNCAP, WAA, NIDA, IPv6 Council, and operators like Telkomsel, XLSmart, Surge, Globe, AIS, China Mobile International (CMI), HKT, and Huawei. Huawei's Denny Deng emphasized accelerating broadband evolution, enhancing computing-network synergy, and strengthening cross-border connectivity to build faster, smarter, and greener digital infrastructure for Asia-Pacific. Thailand's officials highlighted broadband as a critical infrastructure for AI innovation, positioning it as a catalyst for national competitiveness and quality of life improvements.
