Orientum Partners with Italian LINKS Foundation on Quantum Computing for Financial Sector
Orientum, a quantum software specialist, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Italian LINKS Foundation to collaborate on research and development of quantum and quantum-inspired computing solutions for financial services, banking, and insurance sectors. The LINKS Foundation, based in Torino, Italy, specializes in advanced high-performance computing (HPC), quantum computing, optics, and electromagnetism, developing innovative technological solutions. The partnership aims to solve complex financial challenges using quantum computing and hybrid HPC-Quantum technologies, evaluating the practical potential of quantum technology to develop solutions aligned with the needs of banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions. The collaboration will focus on quantum machine learning technologies for derivatives pricing, options valuation, portfolio optimization, risk management, fraud detection, and product recommendations, leveraging Monte Carlo methods and Quantum Amplitude Estimation. The firms plan to develop proof-of-concept (PoC) and prototypes, identify additional projects, and combine their expertise in advanced computing, HPC, quantum computing, and hybrid workflows with financial domain knowledge to create quantum and quantum-inspired software, platforms, and algorithms.
