Empirical Security Secures $25 Million Investment...Developing Custom Threat Prediction Engine Based on Exploited Vulnerabilities
Empirical Security has secured $25 million in Series A funding led by Brightmind Partners, raising its total investment to $37 million. The company plans to allocate the funds to develop and expand its flagship products, Foundation and Radiant. Foundation is a global model monitoring over 18,000 exploited CVEs to predict threats, while Radiant is a custom learning engine tailored to each organization's environment to identify threats specific to the enterprise. Empirical Security's CEO, Ed Bales, previously co-founded KennaSecurity, which was acquired by Cisco. Co-CTO Michael Roitman was KennaSecurity's chief data scientist. Jay Jacobs, chief data scientist, co-developed EPSS (Exploit Prediction Scoring System), which is freely shared daily and adopted by hundreds of companies including Trend Micro, Qualtrics, CrowdStrike, Microsoft, and Wiz.
