42dot Hires Autonomous Driving Expert from 'Uahansangije'

Hyundai Motor Group's global software center, 42dot, is accelerating its efforts to strengthen physical AI capabilities by hiring a specialist in autonomous driving and robotics perception technology. As Hyundai Motor Group restructures its robotics organization toward a software-centric model, 42dot is leading the consolidation of AI and autonomous driving talent. According to industry sources, Lee Heesuk, a senior engineering manager who previously oversaw the development of perception systems for autonomous delivery robots at Uahansangije's Robotics Lab, has joined 42dot. Lee, a computer vision and machine learning expert with a Ph.D. from Seoul National University's Computer Vision Lab, has worked on autonomous driving camera perception technology at Qualcomm and deep learning-based camera and radar perception modules at NVIDIA. Since joining Uahansangije in February 2023, Lee has led the development of perception systems for outdoor autonomous delivery robots. This hiring was led by Park Min-wook, the CEO of 42dot and head of Hyundai Motor Group's Advanced Vehicle Platform (AVP) Division, who is a key figure in the autonomous driving industry with experience at Tesla and NVIDIA. Park expressed enthusiasm about Lee's contribution to building world-class autonomous driving and physical AI capabilities at 42dot. Industry observers note that Park is gathering key talent from NVIDIA and Silicon Valley to support Hyundai Motor Group's software-centric transformation and to expand integrated capabilities across autonomous driving, robotics, and physical AI.
