President Lee, Heading to San Francisco... AI Diplomacy Initiated

President Yoon Suk-yeol and First Lady Kim Hyekyung have embarked on a tour connecting Silicon Valley and South America. President Yoon will begin his first stop in Silicon Valley with a series of meetings with global tech CEOs, aiming to expand collaboration with domestic companies and attract venture investments. He departed from Seoul Airport on the 24th for a 7-night, 11-day trip to Silicon Valley and South America. Upon arrival in San Francisco, he will meet with CEOs of NVIDIA, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Broadcom, then attend the San Francisco AI Summit to discuss cooperation strategies with tech giants. Notably, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between domestic companies and tech giants will be signed, and President Yoon plans to announce the San Francisco AI Declaration outlining South Korea's AI vision. The event will include overseas tech CEOs, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Group Chairman Choo Taewan, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Jin-soo, and Naver CEO Lee Hae-jin. A dinner with these leaders will also take place that evening. The following day, he will engage in activities to attract investments, meeting representatives of six Silicon Valley venture capital firms to request investments in the Korean venture ecosystem.
