The first-half performance reports of the four major financial groups (KB, Shinhan, Hanafin, and Ourfin) have been released, with all recording record-breaking results. However, KB Financial Group's chairman Yang Jong-hee maintained the leading position in the financial group competition. The competitiveness of non-banking sectors such as securities, asset management, and insurance proved critical in determining results, creating a clear divergence in performance among the financial groups. KB Securities' explosive growth, contributing 21% of the group's net profit and expanding non-banking income contributions to 44%, underscored the success of Yang's strategy to reduce reliance on banking.
