Yeosu Inspects Traffic, Safety, and Tourism Measures Ahead of World Island Expo Opening in 45 Days
Yeosu City inspected preparation status for all aspects of the 2026 World Island Expo 15 days before the opening, including exhibitions, traffic, safety, health, and tourism readiness, announced on the 23rd. The city plans to enhance visitor experiences through trial runs and rehearsals before the event. On the 22nd, Yeosu City held a policy forum chaired by Mayor Seo Young-hak, with over 30 officials attending, including deputy mayors and the Expo committee chief. Participants reviewed exhibition videos and assessed progress and potential issues across sectors, focusing on tourism capacity, safety, content improvements, integrated trial runs, advance rehearsals, and inter-departmental support projects. Mayor Seo emphasized the expo's role as a turning point for Yeosu's transformation into a world-class marine tourism city and stressed the need for flawless preparation.
