Electric Car Assembles Like LEGO Blocks, Offering 18 Versatile Transformations
A modular electric vehicle platform called UPT (Utility Personal Transporter) has been introduced by Canadian company ENVO Drive Systems. The platform allows users to customize up to 18 different vehicle configurations, including low-speed vehicles, golf carts, cargo haulers, ATVs, and industrial transporters. Buyers can select pre-designed models or use an online 3D configurator to create personalized vehicles with customizable features like chassis layout, drivetrain, battery packs, steering systems, wheels, seating, cargo compartments, bumpers, charging ports, and accessories. ENVO CEO Alireza Kajemkan notes that UPT redefines lightweight EV design by enabling adaptable configurations for evolving needs, addressing low production volume challenges for niche electric vehicle brands. Final features include modular batteries, all-wheel drive, traction control, crawl mode, OTA updates, smartphone integration, solar charging, IP67 rating, and future remote/robotic operation capabilities. Pricing ranges from approximately $8,000 to $12,000.
