RWA Surpasses Cryptocurrencies in Hyperliquid Trading Volume, Reaching 54% Weekly Share
Hyperliquid's real-world asset (RWA) trading volume has surpassed cryptocurrency trading for the first time, with RWA accounting for 54% of weekly trading volume. ARK Invest's Lorenzo Valente estimated RWA trading volume at $26 billion, marking the first time RWA volume exceeded cryptocurrency in a single week. According to blockchain analytics, Hyperliquid's total weekly trading volume was $48.2 billion, with $25.1 billion in RWA transactions (52%). Valente cited updated figures of $26 billion and 54% for RWA. This represents a significant portion of the $79 billion in perpetual futures trading across all decentralized exchanges, with Hyperliquid handling $50 billion. Valente noted uncertainty about RWA consolidating on crypto exchanges, suggesting specialized platforms may emerge and that Bitcoin and Ethereum trading flows may hold less strategic importance.
