Exclusive: Small and Medium Enterprises Unite Amid Middle East Logistics Uncertainties... Korea International Logistics Business Cooperative Established

Amid prolonged Middle East conflicts and growing global supply chain uncertainties, small and medium-sized logistics companies have formed a cooperative to collectively address challenges. The Korea International Logistics Business Cooperative was established through a founding congress, appointing Park Cheol-jin, chairman of Giant Network Group and former president of the International Logistics Association, as its honorary chairman. The cooperative serves as a collaboration platform for SMEs across logistics sectors including freight forwarding, customs, transportation, warehousing, insurance, and IT. Formed in response to rising operational pressures from global supply chain restructuring, logistics cost increases, and escalating geopolitical risks in the Middle East, the cooperative aims to enhance competitiveness through joint initiatives. It plans to prioritize areas such as joint procurement, industrial park development, participation in government reconstruction projects, AI logistics platforms, shared marketing, policy funding linkage, and joint facility operations to reduce investment burdens and improve operational efficiency. The cooperative will also advocate for regulatory reforms and policy support for SMEs, seeking to strengthen industry representation and facilitate government program participation.
