Banca Stato, Swiss Bank, Launches Regulated Cryptocurrency Trading Service with Signum

Swiss Cantonal Bank (Cantonal Bank, State Bank) Banca Stato has launched a regulated service enabling customers to buy, sell, and hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Solana through its existing web and mobile banking apps. According to Coindesk, Banca Stato integrated the Signum trading and custody service with the Avaloq banking system to launch the platform. Customers can now trade and hold the four cryptocurrencies within their existing bank apps, with Signum's trading and custody functionality integrated into Banca Stato's Avaloq system. The integration connects Signum's API directly to the Avaloq platform, allowing cryptocurrency transactions to be processed through existing electronic banking channels without separate order management systems, reducing operational complexity. Banca Stato, which serves the Italian-speaking Ticino region of Switzerland, has joined Signum's B2B banking platform, becoming one of over 25 financial institutions offering regulated digital asset services. Signum's Chief B2B Officer noted that Banca Stato is the first bank using Avaloq's software platform to support cryptocurrency purchase, holding, and trading via electronic banking platforms through Signum's API.
