Coinbase Plans to Expand Singapore Office Workforce by 25%

Coinbase aims to increase its Singapore office workforce from 150 to approximately 200 by the end of 2026, according to a recent report by Coind Telegraph. The company plans to hire engineers, customer service, and institutional sales personnel to support its expansion in Singapore. Hasan Alameddine, Coinbase's Singapore head, stated that Singapore has established itself as a strategic hub for cryptocurrency innovation. Coinbase obtained a major payment institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in October 2023, enabling it to expand services to both individual and institutional clients. Singapore requires digital payment token service providers to obtain licenses from MAS, with 38 entities currently registered as of 23rd. MAS strengthened licensing requirements in 2025, leading unauthorized firms to exit the market. Coinbase is proceeding with its expansion under the local regulatory framework.
