Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have secured long-term supply contracts with global tech giants, totaling $95 billion (approximately 139 trillion won) in AI and semiconductor collaboration. This partnership, initiated during President Lee Jae-myung's visit to Silicon Valley, ensures stable demand sources for both companies. The alliance aims to solidify a global leadership position in AI and semiconductors. President Lee announced the 'San Francisco AI Declaration' at the summit, outlining a vision to position South Korea as a global AI manufacturing and innovation hub. The declaration emphasizes leveraging South Korea's advanced semiconductor production and manufacturing base to become a global AI hub, creating new markets through rapid and effective AI utilization. Key South Korean CEOs and global tech executives, including Jensen Huang of NVIDIA and Sam Altman of OpenAI, participated. Major long-term supply agreements were also signed, with Samsung and Broadcom agreeing on a $20 billion semiconductor supply pact, and SK committing to a $75 billion semiconductor collaboration with NVIDIA and other tech firms. A 5GW AI data center project is also advancing.
