Chebi confirmed a cyberattack on its website on July 23, resulting in the leakage of 298,000+ customer personal information records and reported the incident to authorities. The leaked data primarily included email addresses (165,000 records), with some customers having encrypted names, contact details, gender, and birthdates exposed. The company disclosed measures taken, including blocking attack vectors, enhancing firewalls and encryption, strengthening access controls, 24/7 system monitoring, and notifying affected customers (July 27, 2026). They also posted a breach inquiry link and password change page. Chebi stated sensitive data like ID numbers and passport details were not collected, so they weren't leaked, and urged immediate password changes while warning against phishing attempts, illegal telemarketing, and spam via compromised email addresses.
