Moving Forward and Backward with Just Thoughts… Brain-Controlled Wheelchair Technology

A technology enabling wheelchair control through thought has been unveiled. Neuralink, a U.S. brain-computer interface (BCI) company, is developing a brain-signal-based wheelchair control system for individuals with mobility challenges. The system records neural signals generated when users intend movement, converts them into control commands via Neuralink's implant, and allows forward and lateral movement. A dedicated app adjusts movement direction and speed based on cursor position, with the ability to halt control.
