Hanwha Ocean Secures Certification for South America-Focused FPSO Design... Preparing for Bidding War
Hanwha Ocean has obtained global classification society certifications for its standardized floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) design, positioning itself to compete in deep-sea oil development bidding wars in South America and West Africa. The company received basic design review certification from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and concept approval certification from DNV GL for its standardized FPSO base design. This certification covers the FPSO's front-end engineering and design (FEED) model, which streamlines project execution by enabling design, procurement, and construction based on a proven platform tailored to customer needs. The move enhances cost competitiveness and reduces project timelines, supporting Hanwha Ocean's strategy to strengthen its bidding position in key deep-sea oil markets.
