LG CNS Joins Global AI Materials Alliance With NVIDIA, Accelerates AX Business

LG CNS has joined an AI materials development collaboration led by global tech giants including NVIDIA and Meta. The company plans to formally launch its domestic AI-driven materials development initiative, AX, through its partnership with the AI Materials Foundry, a global consortium chaired by UK startup Cusp AI. The AI Materials Foundry unites 48 global firms and research institutions, including AMD, 3M, and Merck, to accelerate material innovation through AI-powered infrastructure. Cusp AI's platform combines AI and materials science to shorten development cycles and design optimized materials, with backing from Jeff Bezos' Amazon and a valuation of approximately 4 trillion won. LG CNS aims to support high-tech material discovery for companies in semiconductor, chemical, and energy sectors by leveraging Cusp AI's platform, enabling domestic manufacturers to access global research ecosystems without costly infrastructure.
