Ministry of Science and ICT Launches 'Chungcheong Cybersecurity Cluster' to Boost Regional Cybersecurity Industry
A cross-regional collaboration hub to nurture cybersecurity firms and professionals in the Seoul metropolitan area has been established. The Ministry of Science and ICT, along with the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA), held the opening ceremony for the Chungcheong Cybersecurity Cluster in Sejong City on April 27. This cluster aims to decentralize cybersecurity resources and support the co-growth of regional strategic industries and the cybersecurity sector. Following the southeast cluster in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, this is the second regional cluster. The cluster will foster cybersecurity firms, train professionals, and create programs for technology verification and commercialization, while linking local businesses, universities, and research institutions to build a sustainable ecosystem. Facilities including enterprise spaces, security testbeds, and cyber training grounds will support integration with regional strategic industries such as smart cities and mobility.
