Ukraine and U.S. to Jointly Produce 'Makura' Drone That Pushed Back Russian Black Sea Fleet
Ukrainian defense firm UFORCE has partnered with U.S. shipbuilder RECONCRAFT to manufacture the field-tested 'Makura' sea drone in the U.S., marking a shift from prototype testing to mass production. The collaboration, formalized via a MOU signed at the Ukrainian embassy in Washington, aims to establish a scalable production system with annual output targets of hundreds to thousands of units. Makura, a proven anti-ship drone, has expanded its role beyond initial strike missions to include aerial drone launches, mine countermeasures, and anti-submarine sonar operations. The partnership combines UFORCE's development expertise with RECONCRAFT's experience in special operations vessels, offering a cost-effective solution for U.S. military needs.
