Daedong Selected as Contractor for National Agriculture AX Platform Project... Consortium Including LG CNS

Daedong, a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, was selected as the final contractor for South Korea's 'National Agriculture AX Platform Construction and Operation Project,' according to a report on August 28. The project, structured as a public-private partnership with government financial and administrative support, aims to establish a self-sustaining business model through an SPC jointly funded by the government, local authorities, and private companies. The SPC will operate for 20 years, targeting cumulative revenue of 1.53 trillion won, with Daedong contributing 200 billion won of the 254.6 billion won total investment. The SPC will manage AI/data platforms, AI greenhouses, and precision farming services, integrating data from open-field and controlled-environment agriculture to enable autonomous farming operations. A 21.6-hectare AI greenhouse will be constructed in Muan County for environmental monitoring and yield forecasting. Daedong's chairman emphasized the goal of establishing a standardized K-AI agriculture model through the project.
