Logitech Pauses Development of Portable Game Console Successor... G Cloud 2 Launch Delayed

Logitech has decided to temporarily halt development of a successor to its portable game console. Robin Piesparnen, head of the gaming division, stated the company is focusing on a more significant project than the second G Cloud. While acknowledging the potential of portable gaming devices, he emphasized no immediate plans to launch new products. The decision follows poor sales of the initial G Cloud, priced at $350, which underperformed against the $400 Steam Deck. Piesparnen noted 80% of buyers stopped using the device after initial trials. Stagnation in the cloud gaming market also impacted the strategy, as major cloud gaming providers have not expanded infrastructure as expected. While the company is still exploring market expansion opportunities with Microsoft and Tencent, it remains cautious about the current landscape.
