National Radiocommunication Research Institute Marks 60th Anniversary with Enhanced Research on 6G and Quantum Communication
The National Radiocommunication Research Institute is intensifying research on next-generation radio technologies including 6G, terahertz waves, and quantum communication, alongside advancing AI-based frequency interference analysis and electromagnetic prediction technologies. The institute held a 60th anniversary ceremony in Gwangju-jeonnam Innovation City, highlighting its role as a leader in radio innovation for AI and digital transformation. Over 200 attendees, including officials and industry leaders, participated in the event featuring technology demonstrations and awards. The institute has supported South Korea's radio and communication industries for 60 years, including the global standardization of 5G. Future plans include pioneering 6G research and developing AI-driven tools for frequency management, while strengthening regulatory frameworks for technological change.
