This comes amid controversy following the discovery of a new app management system in iOS 27 beta that could remotely restrict devices if financial partners detect deteriorating user credit. While Apple maintains its monthly leasing model with Klarna, it explicitly denies plans to lock devices for unpaid balances, instead allowing financial partners to enforce contract termination and debt collection through separate procedures.
