LG Electronics Expands Customer Engagement with AI Appliance-Powered Mobility 'Spielraum'

LG Electronics is expanding its AI appliances and on-device AI solutions into mobility spaces, accelerating the diversification of future living environments. The company introduced the AI-powered mobility space 'Spielraum,' which connects appliances and vehicles organically, enhancing customer engagement. A key feature of Spielraum is its independent operating structure that does not rely on external devices like smartphones. It uses a generative AI hub optimized for vehicles and tents to recognize user voices and control the space directly, allowing stable independent space control without mobile devices. Personalized integration begins upon entry, identifying users through wearable devices or smart keys and automatically adjusting in-car lighting, climate control, and audio settings based on individual lifestyles and preferences. It also provides real-time environmental data to suggest optimal air purification. Compact, optimized kitchen appliances and climate systems function organically within the mobility environment, automatically detecting and responding to internal cooking activities. Voice commands or smart buttons can instantly reconfigure the space, such as switching to a relaxation mode that dims lighting and switches appliances to low-noise settings. Additional features like climate-linked dehumidification and automatic ventilation based on temperature and humidity further integrate the space as a unified system. LG plans to use Spielraum as a multi-faceted B2B showroom for construction companies, automakers, and interior designers. LG Electronics' HS CX Director, Oh Joon-hwan, stated, 'We will provide a differentiated spatial experience through the integration of AI appliances and mobility with Spielraum, allowing customers to feel at home.'
