Toyota Halts Development of Lexus Electric Sedan for 2027 Production

Toyota has announced the suspension of development for its next-generation electric sedan. The model in question is the luxury brand Lexus' sedan-type electric vehicle 'LF-ZC,' which was intended to be the flagship model of Toyota's next-generation electric vehicle strategy. The LF-ZC was planned to feature a wireframe design with a low body height, resembling a coupe, and was set to utilize the 'Gigacast' technology, which integrates aluminum cast parts into a single unit. Originally scheduled for mid-2027 release, Toyota's decision comes in response to the U.S. government's withdrawal of electric vehicle tax incentives.
