NC AI and POSCO DX Begin Joint Development of Robot Foundation Model
NC AI (CEO Yoon Yeonsu) announced a strategic business agreement with POSCO DX to co-develop and collaborate on technology for a Robot Foundation Model (RFM). Through this collaboration, they will focus on RFM joint research, optimization of Visual-Linguistic-Agency (VLA) models, digital twin-based simulation environments, robot intelligence verification, and operational stabilization support. NC AI will handle VLA model optimization and digital twin environment construction using its hybrid capture technology from a 3D scan studio, while POSCO DX will provide digital twin testing environments and technical validation leveraging its automation and robotics engineering expertise. The partnership aims to maximize robot situational awareness and autonomous decision-making capabilities through RFM validation in virtual environments, establishing core technology foundations for general-purpose robots. Plans include expanding collaborative research scope and progressively building an industry-based robot AI verification framework. NC AI CTO Kim Min-jae stated, "This collaboration will strengthen robot AI technology competitiveness and lead in creating a universal physical AI ecosystem targeting global markets."
