Naver Moves into Physical AI...Invests in Drone Firm Ubifai

Naver is strengthening its position in the physical AI sector by investing in Ubifai, a drone technology company, following its expansions into autonomous driving and robotics. The investment aims to combine Naver's AI, cloud, and digital twin capabilities with Ubifai's expertise in drone swarm flight and autonomous flight platforms. Ubifai, which has actively pursued overseas markets, recently won the 10 million dollar export award and participates in the global drone code foundation governing the PX4 operating system. Counterpoint Research predicts cumulative shipments of physical AI devices, including vehicles, robots, and drones, will reach 145 million units by 2035. Naver plans to explore synergies between its technologies and Ubifai's hardware and operational expertise, with potential applications in public and smart city sectors. Collaborations with NVIDIA and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport are also advancing, including joint development of a physical AI platform and policy discussions for AI and autonomous robot innovation.
