Former Tesla FSD Developers Say 'Unsupervised Driving Still Not Trustworthy'

Former Tesla employees involved in the development and validation of the company's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system have expressed lack of confidence in the technology. According to CleanTechnica, citing Reuters, these former workers highlighted significant discrepancies between Tesla's plans for expanding unsupervised FSD and the actual development process. They described reviewing video footage collected by FSD vehicles in a Utah office, showing incidents like collisions with animals, near-misses with children, and instances where cars failed to brake in time. The employees emphasized that Tesla and Elon Musk's vision for nationwide unsupervised FSD requires intensive, path-specific training that makes broad implementation challenging. Seven out of nine former data labelers stated they wouldn't entrust their driving to FSD, with one refusing even for payment.
